Program Educational Objectives - Graduate & Undergraduate
ABET describes program objectives as: broad statements that describe what graduates are expected to attain within a few years after graduation. ABET further states that these objectives are "based on the needs of the program's constituencies." The Computer Science department revised our program outcomes through a meeting with our Computer Science Advisory Committee in 2018, from a 2019 survey, and the 2019-2020 ABET crtieria updates. These revised four objectives apply to all concentrations in the BS in Computer Science, including the ABET accredited Software Development concentration.
Objective 1: Our graduates remain current in their chosen careers through lifelong learning. Examples of activities/behaviors that satisfy this objective: Graduate School, Certifications, Seminars, Workshops, Continuing Education Courses, Research Activities.
Objective 2: Our graduates successfully use and apply new technologies.
Objective 3: Our graduates successfully advance in their careers through increasing levels of responsibility and technical complexity.
Objective 4: Our graduates are capable of communicating effectively with technical and non-technical groups/individuals.
Student Outcomes
ABET Student Outcomes describe what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation. These relate to the knowledge, skills, and behaviors that students acquire as they progress through the program.
