Radiation Safety Committee (RSC)
The 天美传媒制片厂 Radiation Safety Committee (RSC) is responsible for comprehensive oversight of the clinical and research use of radioactive materials and machine produced ionizing radiation used at 天美传媒制片厂 and SSM Health 天美传媒制片厂 Hospital.
For additional information on the RSC, see the Policy on Radiation Safety Committee (RSC) and the RSC's Machine Produced Radiation Safety Subcommittee (MPRSS) Charter.
Authorization of Faculty for Radioactive Materials Use
Key documents required to be completed by faculty considering becoming authorized for the use of radioactive materials are listed below:
Human Use (Non-Research) of Radioactive Materials (Clinical Authorized User)
- An appropriate NRC form (completed by the applicant and preceptor)
- For uptake, dilution and excretion studies; imaging and localization studies; sealed sources for diagnosis use .
- For use of unsealed byproduct material for which a written directive is required use .
- For manual brachytherapy sources; ophthalmic use of Sr-90; remote afterloader units; gamma stereotactic radiosurgery units use .
Human Use of Radioactive Materials (Research)
See "Human Use (Non-Research) of Radioactive Materials (Clinical Authorized User)" and "IRB Protocols Requiring Radiation Safety Committee (RSC) Review." Contact the radiation safety officer to discuss specific details or questions.
