Ways to Give

When you make an outright gift to SLU LAW, your contribution can be put to work immediately - either providing funding for current programs or creating a reliable source of future income by expanding the law school's endowment. An outright gift may be composed of almost any asset of value, such as:

Outright gifts
Cash gifts, the simplest and easiest gifts you can make, can be made through credit/debit card transactions, cash, personal checks, and cashier's checks or money orders made payable to 天美传媒制片厂.
Stocks, bonds and appreciated securities

Gifts of appreciated securities, stocks and bonds also provide considerable tax advantages when transferred to SLU LAW before they are sold. If you have held your securities for more than one year, you may find that your gift will provide a twofold tax benefit, creating an income-tax deduction as well as helping avoid the capital-gains tax that would have been due on their sale.

Real estate
Gifts of real estate, including personal residences, second homes, income property and vacant land, offer a wide variety of tax and other benefits. Whereas most people give their entire interest away, it is also possible to give only a portion of the property (an undivided percentage interest) while retaining the rest for other purposes. For more information about making a gift of real estate, please visit the University's  website.
Personal property (rare books, works of art, etc.)
Gifts of personal property, including rare books, works of art, valuable collectibles and tangible items of demonstrable value, in some cases may enable you to make a significant gift to support SLU LAW with outstanding tax benefits to you. Likewise, gifts of intangible personal property, such as copyrights, patents and mineral rights, can generate income for the law school on a continuing basis.
Tribute and memorial gifts

Tribute and memorial gifts are a wonderful way to honor a loved one on a special occasion or to memorialize a loved one as a celebration of life. Upon receipt of your tribute gift, a letter notifying the honored or the family of the deceased will be sent though the amount of the gift will not be disclosed. To make a tribute gift, please include:

  • The name of the person being honored or memorialized.
  • The contact information for the person to whom you would like notification sent.
  • If you would like your gift to be made to a particular fund, please include the fund name. Mail to:
    天美传媒制片厂
    DuBourg Hall, Room 319
221 N. Grand Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63103

If you are interested in creating a new fund in honor or memory of a loved one, please contact the School of Law Office of Development & Alumni Relations at (314) 977-3303 for more information about naming opportunities.

Matching gifts

Many corporations demonstrate their philanthropic intent by matching their employee's gifts to SLU LAW. Matching gifts are an easy way to double or even triple your donation to SLU LAW. To see if your company will match your gift, contact the appropriate department at your company or visit the University's corporate matching gift search page.

Such programs typically match all or a percentage of employee contributions to charitable organizations, making the employer a partner in employees' personal philanthropy. Simply obtain a matching-gift form from your employer's personnel office, fill it out, and provide it to SLU LAW with your contribution.
